As a project administrator why can't I edit my project's dedicated permission scheme ?

Iwona Zielinska February 25, 2020

I use Jira Software 8.7

There are projects created by Jira Administrator. All projects have assigned dedicated permission schemes.

Users who are granted Administrator of their projects cannot edit permission schemes. These are specific/dedicated permission schemes.

It seems only users with Jira Administrator level can edit permission scheme.

Is there way to grant user access to administer their own permission scheme without granting them Jira Administrator projects ?

Hi,

I do not think that there is a delegate the permission scheme to the project admins (but @AlL, do not hesitate to correct if I am wrong).

But using Project role within your permission scheme rather than individual user or group, project admin would be able to manage "who do what" on their project.

The best practice would be a shared permission scheme based on project roles, so project admins can manage project users but you keep something consistent accross all your projects.

Cheers,

Mathieu
