My company has been sold on using Atlassian.
For this specific project, we want to keep track of the testing of physical parts.
For each part we test, we want to add a comment, a report, and then use some field to tag/label the part for further testing or repair. All the while comments will be used to update any progress on the part. Eventually we will want to archive the part from the live view.
I am using labels now because these show up in the card view.
But we also want to run reports to know how many are still in this part of the workflow, how many were tested last month, etc.
Is Jira the right tool for this? Can we configure Jira for this type of flow?
Hi Jed - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Yes, I believe that you can achieve what you briefly describe with Jira. Statuses in your workflow will tell you progress of each part.
Depending on what you are using labels for, you might want to use Components instead as they remove the typos that can happen with labels.
