Our team has observed a change in Jira software recently where an approval tab is added and the workflow too shows it. We have customized the workflow to add an approval step with a condition for an approver. Jira has replaced it automatically with the new approval button & has bypassed the condition.
Does anyone knows about this recent change? Is it in Beta?
We're talking here about software-type of projects or is it only business ones? I know many people who have already asked about this so fingers crossed they are testing something for company-managed projects.

@Valerie Knapp indeed 👀
An official announcement was made in Barcelona this week, but it seems that the feature has been rolled out to some instances a few days before the announcement.
Anyway, here's the official announcement article: Approvals now available in all CMP project types for Premium customers

Hi @Anshul Arora , I also discovered this the other day. I don't find any announcements or anything.
I will flag this post to Atlassian so they can respond.
Cheers

Howdy, in the Atlassian Cloud changes they mentioned they're rolling out Approvals to Company-Managed Software projects.
My site still doesn't have it yet, but nice to see it's rolling out. Very interested in testing this process.

It seems to have changed suddenly.
But I'm glad the feature (Approvals in Jira) I wanted has arrived!
Now that this new feature has appeared, my users are getting confused due to overlapping approval behaviors with my cutomized Approval process in Jira since Jira originally didn’t have a built-in approval function, I had already developed and deployed a customized approval/rejection process.
Looking into the workflow status properties, I noticed that approval-related properties have been added automatically and cannot be edited.
It seems that setting "approval.active = false" would disable it, but I can’t edit this directly in the current workflow editor — perhaps it needs to be set elsewhere.
Also, not all projects are affected, so it seems to depend on certain conditions.
But I'm not sure what a trigger of this feature...
Has anyone else experienced the same situation?
If you know how to disable or roll back this feature, please let me know...
I’d like to plan a proper migration to this new feature later, but for now, I need to restore the current operations as soon as possible.
