Hi Team,

We are using Jira 9.X version. We have plan move to cloud this year.

Application is hosted on Azure Linux VM.

Now we are facing Application Links health check fail with Network ERROR after SSL update.

The remote certificate can't be trusted

<Application link name> may be using a self-signed SSL certificate or a certificate that was issued by a certificate authority that isn't known locally.

Please guide us how to resolve this.

Hi @Sujatha and welcome to the community.

With "SSL update" you mean you've updated the certificates used for HTTPS encryption in your Atlassian services?

If so, I assume the following happened:

You have updated the certificates for your HTTPS encryption, but Jira/Confluence interacting with the other application doesn't trust these as they where not introduced to it yet. In order to do that, you need to add those certificates to the keystore of the application. Only then does it trust those certificates if they are not issues by a global and trusted CA.

The following guide describes this situation: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/connecting-to-ssl-services-938847763.html

I suggest to skip down to "Command Line Installation" in the Resolution section once you're confirmed that this is the problem your facing.

In there the process of getting the certification file and adding it to the keystore is described with the right commands.

If I misunderstood your issue or you have trouble following the guide, please me know and we'll look into it.

Greetings
Philipp
