Benefit realization is tracked manually per project is there a way to capture the percentage benefit earned per sprint and automatically accrue benefits total for reports?
Hi @Julie Marfleet,
welcome to the community!
There's quite a few reporting-focused apps on the Marketplace, and I'm sure there's more than one that can help you with that. I can only speak for the app that my team is working on - JXL for Jira - but in JXL, your use case should be quite easy to solve.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of advanced features, including support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, (nested) issue grouping, sum-ups, and conditional formatting. With these, you can build very powerful reports, like for example this one:
You can view, group by, and sum up any issue field - so it really only depends on what you want to see.
Just one thing to note, since you've tagged your question for Jira Server: As you may have heard, app sales have ended for Jira Server. Are you planning to migrate to Data Center or Cloud? I'd strongly recommend that. If you need some more time, JXL is perfectly compatible with Jira Server; it's just that we need to generate a license for you. If the above looks interesting, just let me know, and I'll happily start a free trial for you.
Hope this helps,
Best,
Hannes
Hi @Julie Marfleet , welcome to the community and thanks for your question.
I don't have an app to suggest but I wondered if you had thought about changing the estimation statistic of the scrum board to benefit realization, instead of story points, and then you could use something like the Velocity report -
The Velocity Report shows the count of your Estimation statistic completed per sprint.
Just an idea that you could try.
Cheers
