Allowing editing Description field only when it is in Open Status not in any other status

Hi , Is there any way where i can only edit Description field when it is in Open Status.

When  the issue is transited to any other status (lets say) to  In Progress Status then  the description field should be non-editable.

Hello,

If you want to have this functionality out of the box, you can remove the description field from the Edit screen and create a transition in the Open status with the Description field. In this case you will be able to edit the description of an issue only in the Open status.
