Good afternoon. One of our development team members raised a question that I can't find an answer for. The client wants the ability to submit a bug, into the project and possibly view the status. Our questions are:
1. Can we create a bug reporting template that allows a user outside of our organization to submit directly into the project board? If so, how?
2. Can we create a profile for a user outside of our organization to view only the bugs they submit without viewing other projects for our organization? Is so, how?
Thank you in advance.
Hi Augustine.
It is possible to implement this using Jira Core/Software.
You'll need to create an Issue collector which you can embed in the website. The client can then log bugs in the created form. More info on issue collectors >> https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver071/using-the-issue-collector-802592637.html
Entering bug information will not require the client users to have a Jira account but if you want the clients to see the tickets they created, they'll require a a Jira account which will count towards the total license tier. You can create a separate permission scheme that will ensure that clients will only have the ability to browse tickets in a particular project.
Jira Service Desk may be a better alternative to this.
Thank you Steven
