Allow non-users to create issues from a URL

Douglyss Giuliana April 28, 2020

I would like to allow people across the company to submit feature requests or product ideas that are created as issues in a Jira project. I'm hoping that I can provide a URL where the suggestion can be entered, and the people making the entries are not required to be Jira users.

This is a bit like Portal, but this won't be in Service Desk but rather in a standard Jira Next-Gen project. I'm specifically stuck in two areas:

1. Issues are created using a pop-up when already inside a Jira project

2. People creating issues must be Jira users

Is it possible to do what I am suggesting?

I'd look at the project "issue collectors" as well as email.

Hi @Douglyss Giuliana -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You can do this by setting up a mail box for people to send ideas in, and then have Jira consume the emails.  When you set this up, ensure you set a default reporter who does have a Jira license.

Please see below for some how-to information.
