All issues appear as unresolved

Miguel Diaz Garcia February 12, 2018

Even though I have some issues as done (classified as completed with the green option) they appear as unresolved in the charts. How can this be solved?

Thank you

Hi Miguel,

you have to set a resolution to the ticket. If you close a ticket, you have to:

  • ask the user to set the resolution with a transition screen or
  • set a resolution automatically with a postfunction of the close-transition

Thank you!

I managed it to work using the second method. However, the issues that have previously pass through the transition won’t appear as resolved. Is there a way to change it?

If you can edit the issues in the closed status, you can make a bulk change. Search for all issues that are closed but don't have a resolution:

  • status = "closed" and resolution is empty
  • Then click on "Tools -> Bulk Change" in the upper right corner and set a resolution in the following steps

If editing is forbidden, you have to adjust your workflow first:

  • Edit workflow
  • search the "closed" state and click on "View Properties"
  • Add the following
    • Key: jira.issue.editable
    • Value: true
  • Save and publish the workflow

After that, you should be able to change the resolution as a bulk change.
