Is there a way to 'hack' (administrate Jira or adjust it) so that when adding a new task it can automatically add to the Scrum Board?
We currently have a Scrum board set up with some work planned in Sprints. The nature of the work changes, so sprints are not always planned to a T, and we often find it easier for developers to add tasks as work goes on (obviously these go through some form of internal approval).
The screen-hopping of having to add it to the backlog is cumbersome as enough friction to hinder the concept of adding a task for a dev. I've tried a few automation and adjusting the workflow but nothing over-rides this functionality.
Hello,
1. When creating a task, ask the devs to add it to the active sprint.
2. if they are sub-tasks then it will automatically appear under the respective story for the sprint.
I think the reason you are unable to achieve is due to scrum, did you try a Kanban board?
when you say your sprints dont start with a time box, then why go for it.?! (I see a systemic Issue)
When you use a Kanban board, a task directly gets into the working board as and when created.
(there will not be any screen hopping)
