Adding status Administrator

Hello,

although I am administrator I dont see an option to add status to column, I only see add column. Can someone please help?

Hi Sona  - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

What type of project is it?

If Next-gen, just add the column and it will add the status automatically. 

If Classic Software, add the status to the workflow, then edit the board to map the status to the column. Be sure to publish the workflow after you add the status. 

If Business (Jira Core) the add the status to the workflow, publish it and the column will be added to the board automatically.

I am using JIra Software. How can I please add status to the workflow? If I go to Project Settings - Workflow, I am not able to add it anywhere.

As you can see it will not allow me to add status.

That usually means you have not published the workflow after you added the status.

Please also confirm what type of project you are working with.

You have to be either a Jira Administrator or a Project Administrator to edit a simplified workflow.

Then what error are you getting when you try to add a status to the workflow?

It says your Simplified Workflow Scheme is shared by 5 projects!!! It should not be! It should only be attached to the original project. 

Since it is shared you must be a Jira Administrator to edit the workflow and not just a Project Administrator.
