Adding icons in the new text editor (of the issue detail)

The editor (an much of the issue detail) has change this week.

In the old editor I could type (/) to get the green check icon.

In the new one its not parsed and there isn't a menu for adding icons...

How can I add them?

Welcome to Atlassian community!

As the new issue view is still a beta feature, our devs are still working to implement some previous functionalities, including the Symbols and emojis you mentioned, which can be rendered but not added in the new issue view now.

Here is the reported feature request opened with our developer team requiring this functionality:

- Ability to use symbols, emojis, and special characters in new issue view
