Adding epics to a board in a next gen project

I'm leveraging the new next gen project feature in Jira for a roadmap board where I have 10 epics.  Only 7 of them are showing up on the board.  Is the next gen project limited in terms of the number of epics that can show?  If not, any setting I've missed that would explain why they are not showing on the board?
