Hi there.

I need to create a system user to integrate Gitlab with Jira.

How can I create a dummy user for this purpose? I need to create the user without email invitation because it's not a real email address, except the email's domain.

I can't seem to create a user without actually inviting them.

Thanks!

Hello,

If you are on Jira Server, then you can create a user in the internal Jira directory.

If you are on Cloud you can only invite users or you should use the G Suite.

You can find more info about G Suite here:

Hi.

I'm on a cloud instance.

We don't want to use G Suite with Jira.

I just want the ability to create a dummy user

Then the only option is to create a dummy account in gmail, for example, and invite this account.

still, it doesn't resolve the fact that this is a system user, however, in the example you provided, we'll be paying for this dummy user.

there should be a better way to handle such cases.
