Adding a column in task

In a sprint task, can't add/drag column 'Date' to the 'Description fields' even though admin access is available.

Per your description, I understand that you are trying to drag-n drop fields to the description area under Project Settings > Issue Layout. Have I understood it correctly?

If that's what you meant, it is not possible to drag other fields in the description area of issues in Next-gen projects, as you can see in the feature request below:

Allow the customization of the Description Area on Next-gen

If that's not the scenario you are facing, could you please provide us any screenshots to better understand what you are trying to do?

Also, are you using JIRA Cloud or Server? If you are using JIRA Cloud, is it a Next-gen or a Classic project?
