I have setup a Jirasoftware in my machine and installed the Invision and Zendesk add.

In the add-on page the status is installed but when I open a ticked the add-on keeps on loading with the message

"Add-on XXXX is not responding. Wait or cancel?"

What is the cause and how to resolve this.

I have not actually seen a plugin in Jira generate this kind of warning/error.  It might be you would need to reach out to the support channel for that plugin.  But it also could be that the system resources here for Jira are so limited that these plugins are actually not able to perform their function.

Are there any kind of WARN/ERROR messages in the $JIRAHOME/log/atlassian-jira.log file at or around the time this happens?

Can you tell us more about the system resources here?  For example:

  • System CPU (# of cores and speed)
  • System memory (RAM)
  • JVM memory allocated to Jira
  • Size of your Jira installation, see Sizing Guide for more details.
  • What version of Jira is this?
