In my comments in an issue, I want there to be a log of the issue's transitions, the to and from status, as well as the user that transitioned the status. I'm unsure how to implement this, but I already have Automation for Jira and would ideally not like to install another plugin.

All of this is already tracked as a part of the issue history. Is there are reason you want this as a part of the comments as well?

My non-technical users want to be able to view this without having to navigate away from the issue. Is there an easy way for me to add the issue history to the issue screen?

Are they agents, or are they customers?
Agents can see that information by switching to "History" tab.
