Add a flag

Sandro Kaufmann July 8, 2022

Is there any way to hide the comment mask when setting a flag on the ticket?

Is it possible to set the flag without the comment window opening?

Thanks a lot for your help.

greetings

Hi Sandro - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

In my experience, if you add the Flagged field to the screen and click it there to set it, you won't get the Comments pop up.

But if you do the right click on the issue and select Add flag, then you do get the comment box. But in that case, I don't think you can get rid of it.

Hi @John Funk

Thank you!

Thank's also for your answer. Unfortunately i can't quite understand your answer ;-)

What do you mean with "if you add the Flagged field to the screen and click it there to set it"?

There is literally a system field called Flagged that you can add to the edit screen used by your project. Then you can just click on or off the box for the field.

Can you provide more details as to why it does not work?

Sandro Kaufmann July 11, 2022

Currently, the behavior is as follows:
When I right-click on the ticket and select "Add Flag", the comment mask appears.

but when I am in the ticket and then select "Set Flag", the comment mask does not appear.

in the settings i saw that the field is locked. can it be because of that?

Can you share a screenshot of when you are in the Ticket with the Flagged field showing?

Sandro Kaufmann July 11, 2022

Sure, see attachment... in the ticket I can set a flag without a comment mask... that works... on the kanban board I can't set a flag without a comment mask... Add_Flag.PNGFlag.PNGComment_Screen.PNG

Thanks for sharing, but no, I am not talking about the 3 dots menu and adding flag. I mean actually put the flagged field on the screen. So go to Settings > Issues > Screens. Find the screen your project is using and add the Flagged field to the screen.

Hi @Sandro Kaufmann ,

welcome to the community! Can you provide more information about your project such as the project type, is it CMP or TMP software, business? In my quick test of flagging an issue in one of my CMP software projects adding the flag does not result in any pop up for comments etc.

Hi @Jack Brickey

Thank you too!

Thank you also for your answer.

we recently migrated from the server version to the cloud version. in the server version this comment window did not appear. now in the cloud it does.

i checked it on a project that we created in the cloud. it is a cmp project software.
