Active Sprints are missing all items, randomly disappeared

Gile Empey October 22, 2025

The last two sprints, I have had a different team using a different Jira project, run into an issue where the items under the Active Sprints Board, completely disappear. The sprint is sill active, I can see it in the backlog and all the items in. There are no other projects using this sprint either. The board is simply blank.

Filters and permissions have not changed either.

Last sprint when it happened, we started the sprint, and about an hour later they all vanished from the Active Sprint board. No changes were made. We ended up recreated the whole sprint and deleted the other. After that, the exact same thing happened...I saw them all on the active sprint board and while I was sitting on that page, about an hour later, they all vanished again.

I kept digging and digging to see what could've changed, and then they randomly popped back in.

This behavior was the same for all users, not just me.

Now, new team/project, same problem with the sprint they just started. I haven't done anything with this current sprint though. Anyone seeing this issue too?

Hi @Gile Empey

A few things to check :

  • Do you have access to those issues? (you will only see issues that you are supposed to see)
  • Check the Columns tab under Board settings to ensure that there are no statuses in the Unmapped section on the right-hand side
  • Check the board filter to ensure that it is correctly including those issues.
  • After the issues disappear, can you see them if you run a JQL: sprint = "Sprint Name"

Best regards

Sam

    • Yes, I have access to see these issues. Like I said, they were all there and visible, but disappeared
  • Check the Columns tab under Board settings to ensure that there are no statuses in the Unmapped section on the right-hand side
    • Confirmed this too already. Everything is mapped the same and no unmapped statuses.
  • Check the board filter to ensure that it is correctly including those issues.
    • The filter does pull of these items and it shows that they are all associated to that sprint still.
  • After the issues disappear, can you see them if you run a JQL: sprint = "Sprint Name"
    • Yes I can.
