Acceptance criteria field for defects donot have options for formatting

If we attempt to edit the Acceptancecriteria for Defects,we donot seem to get the options for formatting(i.e bullet, numbering, changing the fonts etc)

When we attempt to edit this for other issue types(e.g stories)the options are available.

Can anyone tell me why?

Hi @khushboo_puri

As far as I know, Acceptance Criteria is not a default field in Jira. It's either one created by your Jira admin or added by an App. A screenshot would help us in the community better understand what you're looking at.

There is also an app developed by my team called Acceptance Criteria (which is just another version of Issue Checklist), but I'm getting the feeling that it's not what you're referring to.

If it's just a custom text field, you may want to ask your Jira admin to change its type so that it would allow for rich formatting. It's possible that you already have two custom fields called Acceptance Criteria and the screen for Defects uses the wrong one by mistake. If that's the case, a project admin should be able to adjust the screen so it would show the field that supports rich formatting.

At any rate, I strongly recommend using a checklist app like our Issue Checklist for tracking progress against acceptance criteria - it's way more versatile than a text field!

Cheers!
