About upgrading Jira software from 7.5

Give us some step by step instructions about upgrading Jira software version. Where to download and what we need to prepare or check. Please respond soonly.

You can directly upgrade from Jira Software version 7.5 to Jira 8.x (latest version).

To prepare for upgrade (read this),

• Make sure you have valid Jira license, upgrades are not allowed for expired license,
• Backup everything, (Jira Home, Jira Installation, and Database)
• Make sure all plugins installed in your current version are up to date and have compatibility with Jira 8.x
• Make sure your infrastucuture is up to date for new Jira
  • You have compatible version of database server,
  • You have compatible version of Java
  • you have good amount of system memory (Jira 8 defaults to 2 GB in place of 768 MB in Jira 7)
