A JIRA issue: Cross-teams cards take unexpected sprint value to my report

Mac.Lee July 31, 2022

I have a sprint board on JIRA, the cards come from kinds of other project, but it take sprint from other project as well when I use report function on JIRA.

Please see below screen shot as an example: The sprint value in red area come from other project. I don't want to see them and I don't know how to resolve it.

Hello @Mac.Lee

Thank you for reaching out.

The behavior you are seeing is expected with the Velocity Chart, as Sprints are related to issues and not boards.

Explaining better, if the issues returned by your board are/were added to any Sprints allocated on other boards (which may include other projects), their related sprints will also appear in the velocity chart.

We have two feature requests created to consider the implementation of an option to restrict the report to return only Sprints from the current board in the Velocity chart:

Velocity report should only show sprints related to the current board

As a Product Owner, I want to be able to define the number of sprints to be disabled in Velocity Chart

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

To avoid this behavior today, the only option would be to remove the cross-project/board issues from your current board, so they will not appear in the report with other sprints anymore.

Let us know if you have any questions.

@Petter Gonçalves Thanks for your reply. Looks like this is a general issue, I have vote the first optional solution. Hopefully, it could be implemented as possible as early.
