We have a client with multiple projects. Instead of creating multiple projects, we created one project with multiple boards.
I now want to create an issue on a particular board but cant do this. Is there a solution?
I can see my issue when going to all issues but cant see the issue on the board
What issues you see in a board is based on the filter set on the board.
Just check this particular board's filter and tune the filter or the issue to make it appear on the board.
Refer to https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwareserver073/configuring-filters-861254404.html for instruction on the board's Filters
Just to be clear, boards are not containers for issues. Projects are issue containers. Boards select a set of issues to look at. To "put an issue on a board" is nonsense really, what you have to do is give the issue data which causes the board filter to select it.

Hi @Sonja Lietch,
in addition to @Fazila Ashraf correct answer, you should separate your JIRA issues with setup project values.
You can resolve this with a customfield (single select field with different options for each project) or with the usage of components.
The disadvantage of components is that you can select multiple components for one issue. This would not happen with a single select customfield.
You should also make the customfield 'mandetory' so it must be chosen on the issue creation.
Both ways will help to create easy filters for your boards.
Best wishes

Thanks for all the replies. I have one project with multiple boards. The problem is that only one of the boards has the kanban link in the left nav, the other boards do not so when I create an issue, I dont know how to assign it to a board.
@Nic Brough -Adaptavist- I hear what you are saying but every other single project Ive created that has a single board has been no problem, so though a project is a container of issues as you mention, Ive never had to change anything on the issues to have it show on the board within the project.

Doesn't matter. You need to look at the filters you are using for the boards and look at the data that is enabling the board to select them.
