Case:
Part of users have permission to browse project no 1 and other part have permission to browse project no 2.
I want all JIRA users to see board, but one part see their project and second see other one.
Business case: we have 1 developer team, but one of the projects is developed with external mentoring and we want users from external company to see progress on tasks but only from our common project.
I was sure that via project and board filter permissions I can achieve that but I see now that it is necessary to grant "Browse project" permisson for all projects included in board filter. Only then usser is assumed to be able to see board. It is pretty dissapointing - see all or nothing :-(
Yes, that is correct. If you are unable to see an issue, then you won't see it. On the board, in the project, reports, dashboards and so-on. They all maintain the security.
So how I can achieve my goal? For now I have granted "Browse project" permissions to external team for project that they don't need to see. This is the only solution. Sounds like counterproductive. They see additional project only because without that they can't see our common project on board (because they don't see entire board in this scenario).
Other solution is to make 2 boards with different filters, project etc. but this is not comfortable and pro-agile ;) There is one dev team so I want to have 1 board.
