story not shown as separete swimline if the story is from another project

Wouter Mocking June 29, 2022

I have a board with 3 projects combined. The swimming lanes are filtered on stories.

As soon as I create a subtask the story is shown as a separate swimming lane. However, this does not happen when the story is from another project. See the image where the 3rd lane is the 'other stories' lane. There you see 2 other stories from other projects or stories without subtasks.

How can I organize this?

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Could you show us the full issue view of API-1079 or SUP-315 (we need to see the summary line down to where the activity/history tabs start.  Please do obscure text if you want to, we're not interested in the content of the fields, just the structure.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is this what you are looking for?

Yep, perfect.  The second screenshot ruled out the problem I was thinking it might be.

Could you show us the board filter too?  The full text of it (again, feel free to xxx out anything that's content,  like "and assignee = 'charlie' " could be shown as "and assignee = 'xyz'")

T

The filter is pretty simple: project in (DEV, SUP, API) ORDER BY Rank ASC

Bother, I was hoping for a clue in there, but that filter is fine.

Do you have any quick-filters set up (and applied) to the board?

Hi @Wouter Mocking

Is your API project a team-managed project (TMP) or a company-managed project (CMP)?

If it is TMP you may be encountering this defect for showing such issues with subtasks on a CMP combined project board: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-23145

Kind regards,
Bill

ah, that could be it. I wanted to start testing that, but I had to find some time.

Do you know if a migrate options exists to migrate between TMP and CPM?

Wouter Mocking June 30, 2022

That's it. I just tested it and did the migration. Thanks for clearing this up!
