Hi, we're trying out Jira service desk for the first time. I've managed to get it installed onto Jira Software using the Jira applications screen.

However, the documentation seems to be missing a couple of steps. What's the url of the jira service desk? How do i get there? How do i create a project? How do I configure jira service desk? The application screen tells me it's installed but there's no where to go. Where do I go from here? Thanks for your help.

Service Desk projects are the same underlying stuff as Core and Software projects.

As an admin, use "create project" as normal, and it should offer you Service Desk project types as well as Core and Software.  You'll then find it works almost the same as the other types of project.  Issues, workflows, screens, fields etc.  This is for your Jira users though, not "customers"

Once you have created a Service Desk project, you will find the Agents and Admins have more configuration than you get with the other types of project.   One of the links in project admin will be "portal" - that will take you to configuration for the "portal", which is what your customers see, and it'll let you visit it directly, as well as giving you the url
