Is there any limitation to install Jira on /home directory ??

Sergio June 19, 2019

I am migrating my current Jira installation to a new server, I am moving from Windows to Redhat Linux.

I have setup a partition scheme where the /home partition has more space than the / partition, so it seems that installing Jira on the /home partition is an option for me.

Is there any limitation with Jira or something to take into account with jira permissions on the /home directory of another user ??

The /home directory is for the ujira user (which I created).

Thanks in advanced.

Nope, assuming the home directory is a standard disk, not a shared disk.  (There are bits of Jira you would not want to put on a shared disk like NFS or a SAN).  It doesn't care where it is installed, as long as it has space and full permissions on the two directories it's going to use (Jira home and Jira install)
