Hello,

I would like to know what the possibilities are to add a team notion in the jira issue to help sort and filter issues. The perfect goal will be to have a custom field "Team".

I made some research:

  • There is a team notion in the advanced roadmap product (People menu -> Team) but I have only access to jira standard.
  • Use a component "Team_Engineering", "Team_Marketing" , ....
This is not really efficient and user need to add component for every new task manually.
  • Create an issue type by team. Not efficient and we want to have the possibility to have a person in multiple teams.
  • Create a drop-down custom field with the list of the team. In this case there is no link between team and users.

Do you know other interesting solution?

Have a good day
Romain

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

If you are willing to set up your teams as groups in the user management, then instead of a single-select drop-down, you can then use a group-picker field for it.
