How do you bulk move (or import) issues into an epic in next-gen?

I have a list of say 20 tasks that I want to put into an epic in a next- gen project.

Unable to import issues into an EPIC on next-gen

When using CSV import the only field that seems related is Parent-ID. However, if you use this you get errors that the issues you're importing are not of type sub-task. Hence it seems this field is only for sub-tasks. There is no Epic-Link field like there is in Classic mode.

Unable to bulk move issues into an EPIC on next-gen

If I use the bulk edit mode on the filter list, I can edit fields - none of which pertain to the EPIC. I can also choose the Move operation - however that is restricted to only allow moving of the issue to another project, or modifying the issue-type of the issues.

So the only workaround seems to be that you click on the options for each of the issues in the backlog one after the other, assign to parent, then select the EPIC from the dropdown. This is very time consuming! Is there another way or is this a bug?

It seems this was reported here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Next-gen-projects-Linking-tasks-to-epics-using-import/qaq-p/1149842

Although that post links to the wrong bug, the workaround mentioned (multi-select on backlog) works for me.
