Working with a government team using Jira and unsure how to tell which version I'm in - at least by names, labels, images, and URL to find proper tutorials/detailed instructions on functions.
Please help! Where can I look to find the kind of subscription I'm using?
Hello @DeMeritt_ Matthew
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Another place to look for the version number for the non-Cloud product is at the bottom of most screens (the login screen, the bottom of the home screen, the bottom of dashboard screens).
In addition to determining if you are using the Cloud product or a self-hosted product you may need to determine the level of the subscription.
For instance, in the Cloud version, if you see a menu option for Plans then you are using a Premium or Enterprise subscription. If it is missing then you are using a Free or Standard plan.
Another thing to look at is what types of projects you are using.
In Jira Cloud there are two ways that projects are classified.
One is by the Jira product in use - Business/Work Management, Software, or Service Management.
The other is by the "architecture" behind the project - Team Managed vs. Company Managed projects. This applies only to Jira Cloud products. For self-hosted products there are only the equivalent of Company Managed projects.
Currently the Jira Software product also automatically includes the Jira Work Management product. But you could have Jira Work Management without Jira Software. And Jira Service Management is another Jira product that can be hosted on the same site as Work Management and Software. Each product targets a different use case/audience and has different functionality.
If you navigate to the Projects > View All Projects page, the list of projects will include information to identify the product and architecture for each project.

Look at the "help: about" option in the (?) help menu at the top right. If you can't find a version number in there, then you are probably on Cloud, which is always on "latest", and currently always running on a URL of <something>.atlassian.net.
