Hello ATLASSIAN Community,
I'm a Project Manager in my company and we are planning to introduce JIRA to our R&D Department and we're looking forward to bring in addition our whole company into using JIRA.
But to achieve this I have a couple of questions regarding user and group management as well as tracking time.
We'd like to bring our orga structure (every organisation part has several departments (Head of position) with several groups (Manager position) into JIRA. By creating groups named like the ones in the structure I could achieve this really easy. The complex part comes now.
We also want that our employees track their time with JIRA. To make this GDPR conform it is necessary that in a first step only the user can see his own time logged. This is also easy to achieve, by granting the "View own worklog" permission.
The next step is, that on one hand each Project Manager/Lead can see all worklogs from all users within his project. Also easy. On the other hand each Group/Team Manager (which most likely is not the Project Manager/Lead) can see all the worklogs from his group. And at this point I want to ask if someone has the same question/problem and if there is a solution available, that can be shared.
The way a worklog can be viewed should be: Users only their own --> Managers can review all worklogs of their assigned group/project --> Head Of can view all worklogs of their department.
Hope someone can help me.
Many thanks and best regards,
Marc Hummel
