project background settings not available

Hello everybody,

I would like to customize project backgroud, but I can find the possibility only on one jira software project, not in all other projects (jira or JSM, more ore less other 80 projects). I have admin role in all projects.

What am I missing?

Welcome to the community.

Can you verify the project admin permission on the permission scheme in that project, might be that the admin role is not specified there.

as I detailed in the question I already have the admin project role in ALL projects. 

Only for ONE project I can find the possibility to set the project background.

Please provide screenshots, what type of project is this?

And as I mentioned, check the permission scheme on that project. In the People section ,you can be granted the administrator role, but is this role mentioned on the permission scheme on that project on the permission project administrator

A user can be set to any role available in Jira, but the roles has to be mentioned on permissions in the permission scheme to be affective.

example, I could be granted the role developer, but if this role is not mentioned on the browse project permission on the project permission scheme, I still can't see the project

I did some more digging.

JSM projects can't have their background changed, see this open feature request JSDCLOUD-16424

I believe project backgrounds are only a feature in Jira work management projects. Jira software and service management projects don't support changing backgrounds to my knowledge.

thankyou for your contribute, my permission scheme is the same for 31 projects, and only in one of them I can change the background. This should be a software project:

so I still do not understand how to extend the possibility to change background to the other 30 software projects underlying the same scheme of permissions.
