For a client who needs to register for a project, when I send the invitation (even multiple times) it responds "Subscription to invitations via email cancelled"

Check the Customer Notification Logs, if no relevant information is there, or in the audit log in the Audit Log in Atlassian Administration (if you have a Guard subscription).
