Why can I only see 250 customers in my customer list?

How can I see all of the customers added to my list? Currently, I can only see 5 pages worth and each page only has 50 customers. there are no paging options to show more per page and when I get to page 5, it will not let me proceed to see the rest of the list. Any idea what could be going on or is this standard?
