Why are the fields in the work item all on the right?

I have checked the request type, work item and the screen, but whenever I set fields there, they end up on the right-hand side, but they should just end up under Description.

Hi @Antonia 

 

In Cloud it is not working like you described, especially in JSM. All fields (excluding Description and summary) will be always displayed on right panel. Fields that will be filled by customer (appear on request form) will display under description.

i think thats not true, because  I have other work item, where its working:

Hi @Antonia 

The only thing you can try is to recreate/duplicate the request type and see what the result is.

If it works there is something wrong with the request type, I would raise that to Atlassian Support, and try to have a session with them to show this.

This is nit normal and erratic behaviour

thank you. With the duplicate it works! But I can't hide it from the portal, thats strange. I will raise a ticket.

hello, can you confirm this?

Make sure you are on a company-managed project, as behavior changes on team-managed projects.

Remove and add the field back to the layout — sometimes this forces Jira to correctly reload the position.

Test in incognito mode to ensure it is not browser cache.

Hi,

thank you for your help.

So I tried to remove the fields and add them back, but it doesn't work.

 

I'm not sure, what the project is, if company- or team-managed, but I think coompany-managed.
