Why I get this error when I try to configure my outgogoing mail with Gmail?

I configure my Outgoing mail with Gmail and when i go to send a test email I get this:

An error has occurred with sending the test email:
com.atlassian.mail.MailException: com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPSendFailedException: 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. q10sm2123336otn.47 - gsmtp

What I could do?

As mentioned by Carlos, it’s not possible to configure outgoing mail on Jira Cloud. 

There is a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability:

• Allow custom outgoing mail handlers in Cloud

In this case, what can be done is to allow Jira to send notifications on behalf of your domain. You can find the steps on the documentation below:

• Configure Jira Cloud to send emails on behalf of your domain

With this said, we would need more information about what you are trying to do and the steps that you are following that are leading to this error.

@Camilo Ruiz Vargas in cloud you cant configure the outgoing mail. only the incomming
