User links in imported task

Hi I am trying to import new tasks via a csv file. I want to add a link to a user inside the description of the issue. 

I tried to use the 

[~username]

However no matter what I tried to replace "username" with I did not get a link

I tried:

• firstname.lastname
• Firstname Lastname
• firstname.lastname@companyname.com (our emails)
• User ID (something like this: 16316:jf498u43-3f4r-3cvf-f4v3-c3f4f4f43r)
• User ID without : (something like this: 16316%3Ajf498u43-3f4r-3cvf-f4v3-c3f4f4f43r)
  
  

No matter what I got the same results I only got it to type out 
@[deleted] 
and it said the user could not be found.

What is it that am I missing here?

Are these people who you want to set customers or licensed Jira Agents?

They are not external customers, they are internal employees. 
I use my own account for testing the import pipe for now.
If I manually type @ and TOB my account appears as a suggestion and it creates the same account link that I try to create.

I also tried 

• firstname.lastname@companyname.atlassian.net 

but that also gave the faulty link

This will only work on CSV import on comments, this is the only option I have seen user mention work on.

I do suggest to raise an issue at Atlassian Support on the matter, or search the Atlassian public jira to see if there is a related issue.

Oh ok thank you I was reading about it in the documentation but did not realize it was comments only.
