I am trying to create an automation that sets the assignee based on the value of a custom field called "Product" upon issue creation. There are two field contexts for Product, one global, and one I just set up only for the project I'm creating the automation for. When I view the field on the screen it shows the proper values, however when I try to create the automation and set the assignee according to the value of Product, the options listed are those set for the other field context. Any ideas on what's happening here?
Hi Colleen! Could you post a picture of your automation? It might help shed some light on the issue you are facing :)
Hi Tobias, I learned that there is a bug in Automation for Jira, that makes all options from each field context visible to admins, rather than just those specific to the context associated with the particular project of interest. However, when the user goes to select options for the field, they will only see the ones that they should see.
The bug is explained here: [AUTO-507] When selecting value for select list fields value at "Edit Issue" action it show all value despite that it have multiple field context - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.
