The workflow transition to closed won't work when it requires a form entry. Any recommendations? ?

In addition, we are using Simple Issue Language (SIL) to configure this transition, using a validator script. and we're receiving the following error with our script (See 2) :

(1) Script Example

if(!hasinput("customfield_12345")) {
return false, "customfield_12345", errorMsg;
}

(2) Script Error

'The hasInput routine can only be used in validators and some post-functions (initial, the very first)'
