Hi all,

Since a while the cards in the calendar didn't fill completely anymore. In dark mode you at least can see the lines. Since last week the cards also don't show the titles anymore. This makes it so we're not able to use this feature anymore. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi

BigPicture’s release notes I have on hand don’t mention a known issue or fix specifically for cards not filling or titles disappearing. This could be linked to browser issues vs a BigPicture regression. Here's somethings you can run through to help fix this:

1) Browser Check

  1. Open Jira in an incognito/private window and load the same BigPicture Calendar.
  2. Test in a second browser (Chrome ↔ Firefox/Edge).
  3. Temporarily disable extensions, especially:
    • dark-mode extensions (e.g., Dark Reader)
    • ad/script blockers
    • any CSS/theme injectors

If titles reappear in incognito or another browser, it’s almost always cached assets or an extension interfering with BigPicture’s UI.

2) Theme check (dark mode is a clue)

Because you noted dark mode still showed lines earlier, try:

  • Switch Jira theme to light mode, hard refresh, then back to dark mode.
  • If you use a browser dark-mode extension, turn it off and rely only on Jira’s theme.

This helps distinguish “BigPicture doesn’t support this theme/extension combination” from an app bug.

3) Confirm whether it’s instance-wide

Ask 1–2 colleagues to check:

  • same calendar
  • different browser
  • incognito

If everyone sees missing titles, it’s much more likely a BigPicture UI regression or a Jira UI change affecting BigPicture.

4) BigPicture version

If you’re on Data Center, confirm whether BigPicture was upgraded “since last week.”
If you’re on Cloud, changes can roll out without you doing anything, so the timing still fits a regression.

5) What to send to support (so it gets fixed quickly)

Raise a ticket with BigPicture support and include:

  • Deployment: Jira Cloud or Jira Data Center
  • BigPicture version (if DC)
  • Browser + version
  • Whether Jira dark mode is enabled
  • Screenshot of the Calendar showing blank titles
  • Browser console errors (F12 → Console) and a HAR file if they request it

Let me know if this help!

Cheers

Hi Garrett,

Thanks for your message!

We're on a free version of cloud. We're a small team so that's enough.
We're using the Jira calendar, not the BigPicture addon.
Unfortunatelly my colleagues have the same issue.
Also switching browser/incognito doesn't help and the dark mode actually made it more readable.
Will check the extensions with our IT partner.

Strangely enough, if I switch to month view, I do get the titles back again. But we mainly use the week view.
