Store JIRA data in the US only

Matthijs van der Wielen September 19, 2023

I am trying to figure out how and if we can have all our JIRA Service Desk related information be stored in the US. From what I can find the data is currently in either the US or EU, but this is decided upon by JIRA based on user location.

Can I create a separate Service Desk where all the information on there is stored in the US somehow?

@Matthijs van der Wielen

With, I believe any paid plan allows the organization administrators to specify data residency for their whole instance as shown in this document. Why do you believe it is based on the user location?

Thanks,

Kian

Hi Kian,

Thank you for your response! I found older threads in the community that provided that information. I will take a look at the documentation you provided and sort out the data storage location.

Thank you very much.

Hi @Matthijs van der Wielen welcome to the community!  I found this Atlassian article regarding Data Residency: Data Residency

I may be reading it wrong, but it appears with your standard plan, you can select to have your data all hosted in the US.

Hope that helps.
