Hello all,
I have noticed new set of JSM automation actions for Slack channel, and am exploring it.
I tried to use this action Add members to Slack channel by selecting the users in Jira but everytime, it all return fail. Even the Slack channel has been connected to the incident that trigger the rule, and the user I confirm is available to be added to Slack channel.
Our Slack env is on Enterprise Grid, which we have multiple workspaces together, not sure if there is any limitation of JSM for this.
But the workspace I'm trying to add also has only 1 workspace connected to.
Has anyone experienced with the new actions
Hi @Quang Kieu
Welcome to the community.
Requirements are in place: "This action is available only for Jira Service Management’s Premium and Enterprise plans, and it will run successfully only if the Slack channel is already linked to the incident."
Is your JSM on the premium or enterprise tier?
Hi Marc,
Thank you for the welcome.
Yes. I doubt if I can select those actions if I am not on those plans.
I actually think more about the case the the action uses the API method which is not supported in our Slack Enterprise environment.
Have you had experiences with this use case?

Hi @Quang Kieu
If you are not on one of those JSM tiers you can't use the action.
And as you mention, the API method can't be used in your companies Slack environment.
Then I don't see a solution for you, as the API is blocked at the Slack end.

Hi Marc,
Thank you for the information.
It is just my assumption still, as Atlassian doesn't publish the detail about this. That's why I would seek the help from the community if anyone has experienced with this use case, and advice.

Hi @Quang Kieu
But this would be simple to test, ask you Slack admin to open up the tier and do a test.
Align this with each other to execute the test to minimise the change the Slack API is open to all.
