Search and link issues with same reporter

it seems lookupissues limits to that of 100, and that will fail in my case

scenario:

  • user submits a specific request type during current fiscal year
  • jira checks to see if that same reporter has submitted that specific request type previously, in same fiscal year
  • if so, links the two request types
  • if not, nothing

as i need to be able to audit the submission at time of creation if the reporter has submitted more than one, in the same time frame, of the same request type so that a reconcilation does not have to happen at a later date, manually

Hi Karri,

You should be able to add the text you are checking from JQL with the lookupIssues that narrows down the list of issues that get returned. Don't just check for everything the person has submitted for the year.

Hi @Karri Adkins, is it possible for you to attach an images of the rule you are using? This will help to understand more and where we might be able to tweak it to work for your scenario.
