ScriptRunner to check if comment was made by the Reporter of the issue

Hi all,

Thanks for reading my question.

We are using JSM on cloud + ScriptRunner. Seeking help for a code to:

1. check if the issue has new comment
2. check if the new comment was added by the Reporter of the issue
3. if #2 above is true, then transition the status back to 'Work in progress'. Else, do nothing {return}.

Appreciate any help and guidance on how I could achieve this through ScriptRunner Listener.

I would look at a couple of things:

• Write a listener that
  • catches "issue commented"
  • tests something like "if event.getUser() = event.issue.getReporter()"
  • uses https://library.adaptavist.com/entity/transition-issue-input-paramaters as a base for transitioning the issue back
• Have a look at the "escalations" in Scriptrunner

I search for the code for the event "issue commented" from the web. Then add an IF clause as per your 2nd bullet. If I'm successful, I'll move on to trasition/escalaiton step.
