Hello @Eitzaz Haider

SSO is only possible with Atlassian Guard, you cant have it without it.

Having said that,  you can open the project in portal to be public and so Atlassian users will be able to access it without the need to be in the Org.

Hey @Eitzaz Haider

So you need to subscribe to Atlassian Guard - free for 30 days and then you can set sso.

Hi yeah this is one point based on my question. I got a complete answer

"I want to know for this what will be the process, do i need domain verification(from my pov not needed), cost for portal only customers is 0 including atlassian guard. I just want to implement sso for one project customers any valueable suggestions pls!!!"

first of all we need atlassian guard thats right, second thing no need for domain verification for portal only users(customers), thirdly there is 0 cost for atlassian gaurd + sso+saml if implement for portal only customers(users) and process is susbcribe the guard, do configuration with IDP (in my case it was azure) and then test it. Simple

Hi @Eitzaz Haider ,

Based on your use case, we have a solution specifically designed for this scenario: SAML/OAuth SSO for JSM Customers. This add-on is specifically designed to enable SSO for your external or portal-only customers in Jira Service Management without the need for Atlassian Guard or domain verification.

Key Highlights of the add-on:

  • No Atlassian Guard required for implementing SSO for external customers.
  • No domain verification needed for your portal-only users.

However, please note that if you wish to implement SSO for your JSM agents (internal users), you will need Atlassian Guard, along with domain verification for those accounts, as that’s required by Atlassian for internal user authentication.

Additional Features Included:

  • Organization Mapping: You can automatically assign external users to JSM organizations based on attributes from your IdP (like email domain or user group).
  • Portal Access Mapping: You can control which users can access specific service portals grant or restrict access dynamically, based on group or organization mapping.

This setup will give you a seamless, secure, and fully manageable authentication experience for your JSM Project.

You can reach out to us here to schedule a quick call or demo to walk you through the add-on. We’d be happy to help!

P.S. - I work for miniOrange, one of the Atlassian Marketplace Partners.
