Request Types Not Appearing

Christian Coleman

My company is pretty new to Jira Service Management, so we are still learning about the ins and outs. We are setting up a new service managements and running into an issue where when we try to add a new request type, but I get this error. I am not sure what setting I need to active in order to turn this part on, but any guidance would be great.

Hello @Christian Coleman

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

To manage JSM specific features such as Request Types you must be allocated  the JSM User (Agent) role for your instance. This is done through Organization Administration.

https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/give-users-access-to-products/

You will also need to be assigned to the Service Desk Team Role within the specific JSM project, as well as being assigned to the Administrator Role within that same project.

The details for assigning project roles to users depends on whether you are using a Company-managed or Team-managed project. From the image you provided it appears you are using a Team-managed project, so here are he instructions for that.
