Hello,

I'm using Jira Service Management Cloud and have a question regarding form translations in request types.

Current Setup:

  • I have configured translations for all form fields in my request type (field names, descriptions, placeholders, dropdown options)
  • Custom field translations are also configured in Jira settings
  • User language preferences are correctly set in their profiles

What Works:

  • When users create a new request, the form is displayed in their language correctly ✅
  • Custom field names in the standard issue view are translated ✅

What Doesn't Work:

  • When a ticket is created in German and an English-speaking agent opens the ticket, the Request Details view (the form attached to the ticket) remains in German ❌
  • The form appears to be "frozen" in the language of the creator

Question: Is there a way to make the Request Details view (the form attached to the ticket) display in the viewer's language instead of the creator's language?

The request type translations are configured, but they only seem to apply when creating new requests, not when viewing existing tickets.

Is this the expected behavior, or is there a configuration I'm missing?

Thank you for your help!

Best regards,

Kai

Hi @Kai Krause

I think this is not possible.

I also see a raised feature request for this, JSDCLOUD-17536

i do see the value in your question, but this will also be complicated, as a user you can set you own language preference and your device language is also in play and browser language.

I think it owuld kind of hard to determine what language a user is using an translate the form.

Then you would need transaltions for each form in cetrtain languages to server any agent.
