Request Form doesn't retain an added field in issue view even after saving?

We are trying to add 'Resolution' field to the 'Hidden when empty fields' section in the 'Issue View' of a Service request form. We can drag the field across from the side bar  and get the 'Form has been successfully updated' message when we click on 'Save Changes' but the Resolution field immediately disappears from 'Hidden when empty' and returns to the side bar. The issue view has stayed the same despite the message to say the form has been updated.

Any advice on how to fix this?

Hi Ian,

Why are you trying to populate the Resolution field when you create an issue? Jira is probably not letting you do that because that is not a standard way to operate.
