Migrate Jira Service Management project from one instance to another

Saul Eduardo Valdovinos González September 9, 2024

Hello!

Currently I have a JSM project on a cloud instance, I need to move, copy or migrate this project to another cloud instance. What you want is for it to contain flows, custom fields, incidents, etc.

Is there a way to do this or what alternatives do I have to avoid having to create the project again and configure flows, fields, etc.

Hi @Saul Eduardo Valdovinos González , welcome to the Community, we're glad you're here!

In addition to @Fabian Lim's suggestion, you might want to look at the JSM built-in migration utility at Settings (gear) > System > IMPORT AND EXPORT: Migrate cloud site to see if that would do what you need. If apps are okay to use in your org, you might also consider the marketplace app Revyz's Data Manager for Jira, it is a backup/restore/clone app like Configuration Manager for Jira CMJ but the two probably have some different capabilities and one may suit you better than the other. Good luck!

Hi @Susan Waldrip. Thanks, I managed it using the built-in migration utility in JSM.

Hi @Saul Eduardo Valdovinos González

Welcome to the community!

You can look into plugins in the marketplace and I recommend this one: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211611/configuration-manager-for-jira-cmj?hosting=cloud&tab=overview

Cheers,

Fabian

That doesn't mention JSM anywhere.

Hi @Saul Eduardo Valdovinos González and welcome to the community!

If you are willing to use a third-party app, you can try our app Deep Clone for Jira. Deep Clone can clone projects, including the project configuration and schemes, and issues between Jira Cloud instances with its Instance Clone feature.

Hi @Saul Eduardo Valdovinos González,

If you’re consolidating Jira projects, consider trying an automated merging app.

You might find the Help Desk Migration service useful. Run a free Demo Migration to check if it aligns with your expectations.
