I have noticed on a lot of our projects we have both status "New and To do"

does everyone use both?

is there an article about the difference and why they should both be kept.

Hi Danieele,

These are often just defaults based on a template you may have chosen when creating the project. If those don't really mean anything to you, you can sub them out in the workflow for statuses that have better meaning.

But I would say that when an issue is created it goes into New - because well, it's new. Think of that like Backlog for Software Development projects. Then when you are have triaged it, you can move it to To Do if you are going to work on it. Otherwise you can move it to another status like Canceled or something like that if you are not going to do it.

This way you know which tickets have come in but have not been vetted yet.
